Computer Training Centre
Our computer training centre is situated at our offices in 73 Woburn Avenue, Benoni. The centre opened in February 2006 and it can accommodate up to 38 learners in a single sitting. Our training centre was established to afford grade 11 and 12 learners, who do not have access to a computer at home or school, the opportunity to gain computer skills. The training centre is also available to unemployed and disadvantaged persons who wish to gain computer skills in order to increase their chances of finding employment. All the facilities offered at the computer training centre are completely free of charge.
SETA stands for Sector Education and Training Authority. Our computer training centre received SETA accreditation in July 2014. Our computer training centre falls under the Services Sector Education and Training Authority (SSETA). The benefits of having SETA accreditation is that our computer training centre teaches a set of specific standards relating to computer skills training as prescribed by the SSETA. Once a trainee has received certification from our computer training centre this means that he/she has attained a level and quality of training recognised throughout South Africa.
James has been managing our training centre since January 2011. His work experience includes remedial teaching and he has a background in the retail industry. While still working in the retail industry James enrolled at UNISA to study business management. At Oliver’s House James manages three computer classes per day and each class comprises up to twenty students.
