Our new learning centre at Oliver’s Village officially opened it’s doors on 1 March 2016. The new education center has been well recieved by the students as it is closer to their place of residence thus minimising their costs for transport, also because the classrooms are larger and brighter so they make for a good learning environment.
As it was with our learning centre in Benoni, the new centre is focused on maths, science and computer training. The centre is able to acommodate 80 learners at a time. The classrooms of the new centre are quite large and while we wait for our community hall to be built, the learning centre will act as a part-time community hall.
In keeping with our commitment of self-sustainability, a solar power system has been installed on the roof. This solar power system is large enough to supply electricity to both the learning centre and primary health care clinic.
